Schwinn Stingray 5 Speed Grey Ghostoriginal ConditionHere's a nice original rust free krate from my private collection, a 1971 grey ghost 5-spd. Serial #bgxxxxx. This bike has original paint, seat, and screen on the chain guard. The guard does have chipping and wear marks. Otherwise the bike is in nice condition for a 37 year old boys bike.
The frame paint has some marks and typical from chain slap but is very bright and clean. It has some scratches by the seat adjustment point -probably from a vinyl lock.
The paint doesn't have any yellowing of the clear coat. Yellow sticker no the down tube is a vintage cub scout safety bike decal. The seat is original with the reflector attached. It does have nick in it.
Also i noticed that the seat mount had been professionally repaired with a small weld, however, it is not noticible from the top and one would not notice it unless the bike is upside down, i adjusted the reserve accordingly. The rear slik is a vintage aftremarket version. Pedals are rael nice white reflector type.
Please note that this is a nice original example of grey ghost stingray bicycle that has ont been apart or pieced together and is in original 'as found' condition. The new owner of the bike can be the first to fully detail it as if they found it in storage from the 1970's. Original paint ghosts don't come up for sale too often and is a must to complete the color set. See the price of individual parts recently posted such as chainguards, seats, frames and other parts going for hundreds of dollars on ebay by themselves.
